Agenda of the first conference of the network on 7 & 8 December 2011

Dear members of the network’s blog and viewers,

UNESCO Cairo Office, in cooperation with RDIC-BEST (Regional Documentation and Information Center for Bioethics and Ethics of Science and Technology in Egypt) is organizing a regional conference “Current Challenges in Healthcare and Research Ethics” on 7 and 8 December at Cairo University. It is the first conference of The Bioethics Network on Women’s Issues in the Arab Region.

International and regional speakers and researchers will participate in the conference to report the situation surrounding women’s in relation to health care and research in their countries, and to discuss how this network could tackle ethical questions raised. A panel discussion will debate mission, objectives, structure and function of the network. The participants of this conference will be experts and representatives of institutions (associations, NGOs, research centers, health care centers, hospitals, academic institutions, governmental bodies, UN agencies) working on related issues.
